It’s been a little while since we had a Staxus Gossip post on the blog, so I thought I would share a little gem with you guys today and perhaps offer a little insight into the way things go on set, specifically when it comes to some of the dangers a cameraman faces in the course of his duties ;)
I’ve often wondered to myself which job would be the best one to have on a porn shoot, and I think being a cameraman would be one of the most popular choices. I mean, you get to have all the fun of hanging out with a lot of very sexy young guys with their dicks out and on show, but then you also get the chance to be right in there and enjoy the action close up. I think we all imagine that it must be one of the best jobs in the world, but after talking to one of the camera guys today I discovered that there are a few pitfalls that I never considered.
First of all, because you’re right in there filming all the action, you have a lot of responsibility to get it right. Without you there is no video, so the pressure to make sure everything is working as it should is quite high. I think every cameraman has probably had that gut wrenching moment when they look back over a shoot and discover they missed something important, like a cum shot.
Something else I never considered is that you are in the firing line for toys and clothes – and belt buckles or even big dildos don’t only hurt, they can damage equipment too. Imagine you’re right in there filming some close up action when a dildo comes flying in your direction, abandoned on cue by a performer, but you happened to be in the way to get the bulbous end right in the eye! lol
Of course, one of the biggest risks is the cum splash. I don’t think many of you guys would mind that (I wouldn’t either) but not all the camera guys in porn are actually gay, or even bi, so looking through that viewfinder to see a cock spraying cum in your direction is not always a welcome thing. I guess they must get used to it and know when to move out of the way most of the time, but jizz shots can be pretty unpredictable and being splashed in the face is a real risk ;)
So, there you go, a few things to think about when you’re imagining how hot it would be to be a cameraman on a Staxus porn shoot. I don’t think these things would dissuade many of you from wanting to do it though, right? No, I still would lol
