A few years ago I was rushing for a meeting and chatting on my phone while walking through London in the pouring rain, and I almost stepped right into a gigantic pile of horse manure while crossing the street. Seriously, the horse leaving that behind must have been humongous!
My cat-like ninja moves to avoid that pile were momentarily successful, but it meant I instantly stepped right into a pothole and fell flat on my arse in the middle of the road, with a taxi speeding towards me and having to break. I felt a little stupid.
I kind of had that feeling again today when I found out that a throwaway remark I posted on the blog was taken entirely not as intended.
So, I apologise. I feel a little stupid that this comment was read as an attack or an insult, when it was really supposed to be nothing more than a disarming jibe in response to some of the more harsh comments. I genuinely didn’t think this would be seen as an insult, but looking back on it I suppose it could easily have been read that way.
After so many years you guys know me pretty well by now, you know I like to get a little ridiculous sometimes, I like to ramble on and inject flippant statements here and there, the comment in question was supposed to be a stupid remark to illicit a smirk in most. Obviously I misjudged and for that I apologise.
But shall we make a deal? How about the negativity just stops entirely? You don’t like seeing a model, I get it, he’s not your cup of tea and that’s fine. There are plenty more boys on the site you do love and one guy you don’t is not the end of the world. Don’t like a theme or a story? That’s cool, with so many scenes to watch having a few dotted about the place that don’t do it for you is not really a big deal.
You guys all know that Staxus needs to cater to a lot of guys, it likes to mix things up and offer something new when the opportunity is there, and it does all of this pretty damn well I think we all agree. Plenty of the recent scenes have been absolute stunners and I know I’m not the only one who thinks Staxus is returning to its roots when it comes to quality, themes and the boys on offer.
So, I think we need to start working by our mothers old saying of “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all”. That doesn’t mean no criticism, but it does mean that members should perhaps reconsider what they’re about to say about a model or a scene and double check that it’s appropriate. I’ll keep that in mind when I’m trying (and failing) to be a comedian in response to criticism if you guys will keep that in mind when commenting on the models and the scenes. Does that sound good?
As always, leave a comment if you have something to add (and I think plenty of you do! :) ) Lets get back down to business and enjoy some of the great scenes coming this week!
